On Tuesday evening, January 14th, the Class of 2020 gathered in the Twitchell Memorial Chapel, where they were honored by our faculty for their academic performance during the first semester. An annual tradition, the “First Semester Awards Ceremony,” which takes place on the evening of the first day of the second semester, serves to both celebrate our students’ first-semester accomplishments and welcome them back after their well-deserved break.
Along with recognizing students who earned honors distinctions, teachers from every first-semester course took to the stage to present individual awards to one student in each of their classes. The criteria for these awards were left to each instructor’s discretion, with many taking into consideration effort, a willingness for a student to step outside of his comfort zone, and similar academic attributes beyond the scope of grade earned.
Congratulations, gentlemen, and keep up the good work!
