Matt Dugan began his tenure as the Head Coach of Bridgton Academy football in March, 2022. Before arriving in North Bridgton, he spent the previous seven years in various roles at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. When he arrived at Colby in 2015, he served as the running backs coach before moving to the offensive line and serving as the recruiting coordinator through 2018. In 2019, Dugan was promoted to offensive coordinator. During his two seasons as the offensive coordinator, Dugan helped Colby score the most points per game and win the most games in a season in nearly a decade. Additionally, over the course of his seven seasons, he successfully recruited more than 30 percent of the team’s roster.

Before his time at Colby, Dugan served as a graduate assistant coach at his alma mater, Springfield College, during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He coached the offensive line (specifically centers and guards), while also serving as the junior varsity head coach. The Pride won the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III North Atlantic Championship Bowl during Dugan’s first season in 2013. Before returning to Springfield College in a coaching capacity, Dugan served as the running backs coach at Maine Maritime Academy during the 2012 season.

Dugan was a four-year member of the football team at Springfield College, starting at center in his final two seasons. He earned Empire 8 All-Conference Honorable Mention and was awarded the Solem-Dunn-Osur Brotherhood Award by the football program after his senior season in 2011. He was later awarded the Male Athlete Unsung Hero Award by the Springfield College athletic department.

Dugan lives on the Bridgton Academy campus with his wife, Jamie, and daughter, Julie.
