TED GARBER JOINS BRIDGTON ACADEMY LACROSSE STAFF
Venerable lacrosse coach joins BA Lacrosse as an assistant coach

North Bridgton, ME – Bridgton Academy is excited to announce that Ted Garber has joined the Bridgton Academy as an assistant coach.

Garber brings over 40 years of experience in the lacrosse world to Bridgton Academy. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire (where he is enshrined in the school’s Hall of Fame), Garber has devoted his entire career to lacrosse. Garber has coached at UNH and the University of Massachusetts, and was also head coach of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) squad, the Ohio Machine. He has also been a coach at the prep school level, as well as a recruiting consultant.

At BA, Garber will devote his time to assisting in finding talented and motivated student-athletes to fill out a lacrosse program that is consistently one of the top teams in the Northeast. Playing a schedule filled with collegiate, club and service academy squads throughout not only New England, but the entire east coast, BA lacrosse has a 30-year tradition of excellence that looks to continue into the future.

“I am very proud to welcome Coach Garber to the Wolverine Lacrosse family,” said Head Lacrosse Coach Jon Hunt. “Through the continued support of Headmaster Grady Vigneau and the entire administration, Bridgton lacrosse has been able to strengthen the program by adding Coach Garber, who is a legend within the prep & college lacrosse community. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, not only on the lacrosse field, but on the recruiting trail as well. I am excited to work with Coach Garber to continue to build the top prep lacrosse program in the Country.”

Prior to joining BA, Coach Garber’s career in professional, collegiate and prep lacrosse is a study in success. He is the member of two Halls of Fame (UNH and Connecticut Lacrosse), has over 200 wins as a coach in MLL, owns the highest winning percentage in UMASS lacrosse history, and has lead both UNH and UMASS lacrosse to the NCAA Lacrosse Tournament. He is the son of Dick Garber, widely considered to be the “Father of New England Lacrosse.”

“Having Coach Garber join our program is another boost to a lacrosse program that is already one of the most credible in the country,” said BA Headmaster Grady Vigneau. “This is a great opportunity to take BA lacrosse to even greater heights, and we couldn’t be more excited.”
