Homecoming a Flurry of Events and Wolverine Pride
Homecoming Weekend 2024 is officially in the books. It was a great weekend for the entire Bridgton Academy community with perfect fall weather as hundreds of Wolverine families, alumni, and friends arrived on campus for visiting, laughter, sports, and connections old and new.
On Friday, some parents and alumni enjoyed sitting in on classes with today’s students, followed by fall treats with Mrs. Gleeson up at the field prior to a 4:00 baseball/soccer double-header which saw two wins for the Wolverines. The evening wrapped up with the induction of the 2024 Hall of Fame class. Saturday brought another sunny day, with parents starting off the day at a College Counseling Q&A session held at the Twitchell Chapel. A ribbon-cutting ceremony recognized the completion of our donor-funded weight room transformation, followed by a tailgate lunch and lacrosse facing off against Navy Prep in a highly competitive and close-fought game. Golfers hit the greens at Bridgton Highlands Country Club for our Homecoming Weekend Golf Scramble, where the foursome of Coach Aaron Izaryk, Coach Mike Verrill, TJ Keefe ’20 and Justin Mushrow ’20 ultimately walked away victorious. The Class of 2020 alumni represented well on the links, with Coach Tim Atwood, Dawson Gundlah ’20, Jack LeBlond ’20 and Matt Pratt ’15 coming in a close second.
That evening, parents and alumni gathered at the nearby Queens Head for an evening reception, followed by a thrilling shootout victory for Wolverine hockey. The weekend wrapped up on Sunday with the dedication ceremony for the Armour House, another hockey game win, and Wolverine football’s Homecoming victory over New England College. It was a fantastic time here in North Bridgton and our thanks to everyone who made the trip to celebrate Homecoming Weekend with our Class of 2025.
