–NORTH BRIDGTON, ME – Beginning in the fall of 2019, Bridgton Academy’s baseball team will join Showcase League, the first and only “Data Driven” fall high school baseball league. The league holds an eight-game fall season, hosted on college campuses throughout New England, and maximizes exposure for players from college coaches and programs.

After three NECBA championships in seven seasons, Bridgton Academy is moving onto a higher standard of fall competition, with greatly increased exposure to college baseball recruiters.

According to Showcase League’s website, it is the only league which “deploys 3D doppler phase array tracking radar technology”¦ Unlike camera based technology that can only be used in practices situations such as bullpens and batting practice we will provide the same technology used in MLB, Cape Cod Baseball League, and top D1 Colleges.” The league compiles statistics for each player and team, which is shared out by the league’s media team.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for us to have our student-athletes introduced to an even deeper pool of scouts and coaches,” said Bridgton Academy Head Baseball Coach Aaron Izaryk, “the level of competition is excellent, and we are very much looking forward to being a part of this.”

The league remarked, “In addition to bringing quality future college baseball players, this adds to our network of coaching expertise. (This is an) opportunity for current players to find out more about the PG path.”

In the past five years, Bridgton Academy has sent dozens of players to college programs around the country, including the University of Maryland, UMass-Lowell, Marist College, the University of Maine, Manhattan College, SUNY Binghamton, and Quinnipiac University. Bridgton Academy features a year-round, baseball-specific training program, fall and spring schedules, and college-level facilities (Koop Field).

Bridgton Academy’s mission is to provide a program for young men in a unique, one-year postgraduate environment to prepare for the competitive rigors of college and beyond. Bridgton Academy is located in western Maine, in the town of North Bridgton. For more information, visit www.bridgtonacademy.org.
