Last month, members of the Class of 2020 participated in a modern-day Bridgton Academy rite of passage: Dorm Wars Karaoke.
After a series of qualifying rounds, the crème de la crème of the campus crooners battled it out in a show-stopping finale. In addition to campus judges who tallied their votes to determine year’s king of karaoke, alumni were invited to submit votes for their favorite singer””a first-ever for this popular Dorm Wars challenge.
When all was said and done, it became clear that there would indeed be two winners to celebrate: Drew Gregor (Eliot, ME) and Jacob Stearns (Center Conway, NH). Gregor earned an overwhelming majority of votes from the campus contingent of judges, comprised of Bridgton Academy faculty and staff. His version of Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” proved to be a standout for our campus judges and fans alike. Stearns, however, sealed the vote from our alumni, who were clearly moved by this young man’s rendition of the acclaimed hit “Say My Name,” by Destiny’s Child.
We thank all of our alumni who chose to participate in this fun event and are already looking forward to sharing next year’s (Class of 2021) performances with you!
