First Semester Academic Awards
On Thursday, January 22, 2026 the Bridgton Academy community gathered in Chapel to recognize and honor student academic excellence from the first semester. Beginning with opening remarks from Head of School Diana J. Gleeson, the energy generated by students and staff made for a memorable celebration.
“It was so much fun to celebrate with all of the students,” shared Dean of Academics, Mrs. Jamie Izaryk. “There was a lot of energy with the students cheering for each other and it created such a great atmosphere.” Students that achieved honors, high honors, and highest honors status for the semester were recognized, as well as students selected by teachers for specific classroom achievements and effort. “It is really important that we recognize and celebrate the process and not just the product,” noted Izaryk. The theme “Stronger Together,” accentuated by Mrs. Gleeson was on full display as each student called forward received applause and sincere appreciation for a job well done. “The smiles were great to see–genuine excitement for each other brought us together as a community,” noted Mrs. Izaryk. It turned out to be a great celebration for a Bridgton community working through a challenging time. “It was a joyful event at a time when we needed a little bit of joy,” shared Izaryk.
Congratulations to our entire Class of 2026 on a successful first semester.
