The Parents’ Fund

Parent Giving at Bridgton Academy

For decades, parents have entrusted Bridgton Academy with their sons; knowing that their family has chosen the best program in postgraduate education that our country has to offer.

A testament to the confidence Bridgton Academy parents have in our extraordinary program lies in the remarkable philanthropic role that parents play for the Academy. In fact, parent contributions comprise a significant percentage of our Academy’s annual fund, known as “The Bridgton Fund.”

It is in this spirit that the “The Parents’ Fund” was created; providing a giving category all its own to recognize the pivotal role the financial support of parents plays in helping our Academy meet its annual Bridgton Fund goals.

The decision parents make to donate to Bridgton is not one we take lightly, and we are extremely grateful for the longstanding tradition of giving that Bridgton parents have woven into the history of our school.

In honor of their generosity, and the critical role Bridgton parents play in helping us to uphold our mission, the Academy strives annually to ensure that each and every parent who makes a gift in support of Bridgton is recognized for the life-changing impact their kindness has made possible.

Along with being recognized in one of the Academy’s seven “Giving Levels,” Parents’ Fund supporters are also acknowledged in a dedicated section of our Annual Report on Giving. And, those parents who make a total donation of $1,808 or more during a given fiscal year, are recognized in the parents-only giving circle, known as The 1808 Parent Society. The names of those members of The 1808 Parent Society are listed annually on a special recognition plaque housed in the Dr. Cyrus T. Hamlin STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Center on campus.

We are thankful for each and every parent who has made a gift in support of Bridgton Academy, no matter the amount. Your generosity and belief in our mission makes all the difference, and allows us to offer “the year that makes the difference”. We remain proud of your sons and the experience they shared here in North Bridgton and look forward to watching their successes unfold!

Become involved as a Parents’ Fund Chair!

Each year, parents from the current student body, past parents (or sometimes both!) volunteer their time and talent to rally their “parent peers” in pledging support to the Bridgton Fund.

In coordination with the Office of Alumni and Development, parents send an appeal letter and often perform additional outreach (e.g., e-mails, phone calls, etc.) to other parents of the current year’s graduating class in order to encourage support for the Bridgton Fund. As a Parents’ Fund Chair, you will provide invaluable assistance to the Academy as we work to reach a goal of 100% current parent participation in this critical fund. Parents’ Fund Chairs can structure the project in such a way as to suit their availability amidst hectic schedules. And, don’t forget – our Office of Alumni & Development works directly with you to help make your volunteer endeavors as seamless, enjoyable, and successful as possible!

Are you interested in becoming a Parents’ Fund Volunteer? We’d love to hear from you!
